Spent significant time with the user group to observe their work to gain insight into their goals and challenges. Actively consulted with the users in the design process to develop a solution that simplifies data management while increasing accuracy.

Consulting work include heuristic evaluations, on-site research, user testing, user flows, site maps, wireframes, interactive design, formal client presentations, and white

Assessed stakeholder needs, created designs, and provided development oversight
of a web publishing platform used by company lawyers to deliver tax compliance
information to customers. Platform included functionality to create page templates,
modify site navigation, draft and approval processes, and user account provisioning.
Designed the UI for the suite of SaaS reporting products offered by SOVOS.
Taught introduction to User Experience design class for future creative professionals. Course content included overview of UX tasks such as user research methods, content strategy, sitemaps, wireframes, and product testing.
Lead UX designer for the agency’s Geek Squad account. Responsibilities include the design of Geek Squad account management site as well as researching customer and client needs to identify customer challenges and business opportunities.
UX designer for crop insurance mapping software rewrite project for RCIS.
Redesigned the UI to allow quick entry of crop information for a large number of fields while accounting for complex insurance rules. Trained in the Agile development
process. Versed in capabilities of .Net, Windows Forms, and WPF APIs.
Led research efforts to learn how the current software was used by customers. Efforts
included insurance agency visits to perform contextual inquiries, conduct interviews,
and run user tests of software in development. Research results helped product owners
prioritize feature development and address issues before product launch.
Expanded agency capabilities by incorporating additional research into the user
experience design process. Research included client interviews, persona development,
and collaboration with stakeholders. Resulting projects were better able to meet user
needs as well as business goals.

Moved the organization towards a user centered design approach in a process that was
traditionally dominated by IT. This was done through the promotion of new design
processes, training, and collaboration.
Selected and coordinated efforts between outside interactive agencies and Merrill’s
internal IT staff to achieve end results that were superior to previous efforts.
Contributed to the success of the MarketWatch licensing business through the design
of highly functional financial research tools for top news and financial institutions.
MarketWatch e-commerce site redesign. The updated interface met technical
requirements of the e-commerce system while allowing for increased product
marketing opportunities and ease of use.
